RIP Michael White (1936 - 2016)
Michael White, the British producer behind "Monty Python and the Holy Grail", died on Monday, aged 80.
Eric & Terry G paid tribute to Michael, whose nickname was "Chalky", who was a dear friend of the Monty Python group:
Eric: "Chalky was one of a kind and will be missed."
Terry G: '''Chalky' White is gone, leaving years of indelible graffiti scrawled across the cultural walls of the world... from “Oh Calcutta” to “ Monty Python and the Holy Grail” and much, much more. He is sadly missed."
Michael had credits spanning decades in theatre, film and television. Born in Glasgow, White began his theatrical career in London's West End producing plays such as "Annie" and "The Rocky Horror Show". He later went on to produce films, including "The Hound of the Baskervilles" in 1978, and those which have achieved cult status including "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" and "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," both of which are still regularly screened in cinemas.
