  • Terry J Walks for the Alzheimer’s Society

Last Sunday, 10th September, Terry J took part in the Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk in London to raise awareness and money for the charity.

Alison Telfer and Terry’s daughter, Sally Jones, who both walked with him, set up a JustGiving page with the following message:

"We are going on the AZ Soc Memory Walk this Sunday, 10th September, to raise awareness of the cruelty of all kinds of dementia. Terry cannot speak (beyond a few words) or write anymore. He knows research will not help him but if dementia could be diagnosed earlier it would help his family and others in the same situation in the future. He may not be able to speak but he can walk".

They walked to Guildhall, St. Pauls, Millennium Bridge and along the north side of the River Thames to London Bridge.  One and half hours, 4+ Km.

That wasn’t enough to tire Terry out, Alison said: “Even after all of that, when Terry got home, after lunch in a pub, he went out for his usual hour and half walk around Hampstead Heath.”

They wanted to share these photos from the walk: Terry with Linda Robson, who opened the event, Terry by the Memory Tree, Terry at the start of the walk, and Terry at the Guildhall with his team.
